Guitarist, composer Takeshi Ogura became a staple in New York music scene soon after he decided to dedicate much of his time to play. His primaly style of music is jazz but he has explored many different genres to expand his musical vocabulary.

Now lives in the Bronx. He formed a funk-jazz band, New project with Alan Eicher, Rondew Monroe and Greg Brown in 2012. Besides playing with his own trio, he had engagements include performances with trumpeter Duke Jones, Norman Connors and Starship Orchestra and bassist Bill Crow. He now plays regularly at Paris Blues in Harlem, with John Cooksey on Mondays and Tyrone Govan on Thursdays.
